Book An Appointment

Want to Book a Therapy Appointment?

Imagine how great it would be to feel stronger, more at peace, and overall happier in just a few short weeks. This is what the overwhelming majority of my clients report feeling shortly after starting therapy.

If you’re motivated and ready to get started, I’m glad you’re here! Our first step is to set up a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. On our call, I’ll get a better understanding of your needs/goals and will make sure that I’m the best therapist to assist you. I don’t blindly accept every inquiring new client. I only work with those that I’m extremely confident I can help.

Are you a fellow therapist? I love helping other clinicians too. Let’s get started!

Insurance

Before we set up a phone call, let’s make sure the logistics work. After too many restrictions and treatment interfering limitations, I chose to opt out of insurance. Therefore, services will be paid for with cash, check or credit card. I’m not the cheapest therapist in town but my clients usually see the benefit of therapy very quickly. So consider the value of finding a therapist that is an expert in the area in which you want to improve.

If you have a plan with out-of-network benefits, you can see any doctor of your choosing and insurance will reimburse you a percentage. In most cases, insurance reimburses around 60-90% assuming you have a psychiatric condition meeting medical necessity criteria for treatment (which will be determined during the first appointment). At the time of the therapy appointment, you are financially responsible for the service fee then I provide you with an invoice to submit to the insurance company (it’s easy!).

To find out just how much your specific plan will reimburse, simply call the number listed on the back of your insurance card and ask for the reimbursement rates for out-patient, out-of-network mental health services (CPT codes: 90791, 90837). Also, ask if you have a deductible and how much is remaining if you have one. Insurance typically won’t start to reimburse your out-of-pocket expenses until the annual deductible is satisfied.

What to expect from the first appointment

At our first meeting, I’ll listen carefully to fully understand your circumstances and what you’d like to make better. I’ll share my ideas and together we’ll develop an action plan. I’ll offer tangible skills and strategies to help achieve the results you seek. It’s not always easy to work on life’s problems, but it is WORTH IT.

Therapy can be rewarding, hope-instilling and even life-changing. Also, it involves a commitment of time, energy, and money. At times, it can be difficult to discuss and/or allocate funds to pay for psychotherapy. This may be caused, in part, by a negative stigma associated with receiving therapy or difficulty spending money on oneself. For many, it’s customary to accept fees associated with a medical bill or paying for the cost of a nice meal, but not for psychological wellness. But like any other expense that is necessary for one’s wellness and self-care, money for psychotherapy can and should be discussed openly. Consider the value of your mental health when allocating funding for therapeutic services.

As in any other business, compensation fees adjust periodically to reflect increased costs of living and one’s growing professional expertise. I offer 15-minute phone consultations free of charge in hopes that you can better evaluate if I am the best doctor to assist you. I offer discounts for those who prefer to take advantage of pre-pay packages. Payment is due at the time of service and cash, credit/debit cards, personal checks are acceptable forms of payment.

In our practice—The Psychology Group—we have several highly rated, excellent therapists with varying fees for service. If you or your family is experiencing financial hardship and need a lower fee for service, you may consider working with another clinician and request a sliding scale fee. Everyone in our practice holds a minimum of a Master’s degree and has been well-trained. Give us a call and we can match you with the best therapist for you!

Cancellation Policy

Therapy can be incredibly helpful and at times it can be hard work. Sometimes it’s tempting to avoid doing that work. I ask that you commit to show up, not only in person but also with a willing, open mind. I too, commit to show up and give 100% to you.

Appointment times are reserved just for you. If a therapy session is missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, you will be billed the full service fee.
