Dr. Jamie Long is a psychologist licensed by the state of Florida who’s passionate about helping men, women, adolescents, couples, and families improve mental health and wellness. She practices therapy in the beautiful offices of Bayview Therapeutic Services in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Jamie Long is an expert diagnostician and offers a full range of therapeutic services for a variety of presenting problems. Both Dr. Long’s Master’s and Doctoral degrees were awarded from Nova Southeastern University – Center for Psychological Studies. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. In addition to private practice, she has served as a university professor, career counselor, researcher, writer, and even a professional food critic.

More About Dr. Long’s Specialities

 

Dr. Jamie Long’s specialties are in the treatment of eating disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, addictions, and other various co-occurring psychological issues. Although Dr. Jamie utilizes numerous strategies to help her clients achieve their goals, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and The Gottman Method for couples are preferred treatment approaches and she holds advanced training in these modalities.

 

Dr. Long is an eating disorder specialist and received expert training during her clinical experience in university counseling centers and at The Renfrew Center — a comprehensive residential eating disorders program located in Coconut Creek, Florida. At The Renfrew Center, she began as a post-doctoral resident then was invited to join senior staff as a supervisor and manager. She has developed patient programming and trained numerous clinicians and student interns. Dr. Long is dedicated to eating disorder awareness and has spoken at several training seminars and advocacy events within the community. Since 2008, Dr. Long has provided individual, couples, family and group therapies for adolescents and adults with eating disorders and co-occurring disorders within her private practice.
